2019 Singapore Minime Fencing Championships 2

We had the Singapore Minime Fencing Championships 2 that was held from the 7th to 9th of September and our fencers came back with fantastic results.

In the Under 14 Boy’s Épée, we have Chiang Yee clinching the top spot while Zhan Ze Xian Jonas (GDL) got himself a bronze medal! Not to mention Julian Jace Choong (PRCS) and Zjien Ng Yee Sheng (GDL) finishing in the Top-8 in 5th and 7th positions respectively!

In the Under 14 Girls Epee, Choong Zi Cheng (GDL) earned a silver medal with respectable finishes from Ona Koning (PRCS), Dela Cruz Michaela Juliane Chua (PRCS) and Carol Lee Kai le (GDL) had a placing of 5th, 6th, and 8th respectively. This means that half of the Top-8 fencers are from SGF. Well-done!

The competition continues the next day where Poli Vittorio won a bronze medal and Jonas Lim Yet Thye finished 7th place in the Under 12 Boy's Epee Individual Event!

Ashley Mae Harrison fought hard all the way into the finals and came out victorious in the Under 12 Girl's Épée Event while Shen Yuehan achieved 5th place in the same event. Special mention goes to Liu Zihui Sophy who was our youngest fencer sent for this event!

In the Under 10 Girl's Epee Individual Event on 9th September, Liu Zihui Sophy earned herself a position in the top-8 despite being her first-ever competition. She showed so much bravery throughout and we cannot be more proud of her!

This competition is a good indicator of the progress that our fencers have made. Most of them have picked up the sport not too long ago and by achieving these results, it shows that they are well developing, and the other fencers have to look out for them in future competitions!
